Hammersmith Elected Chairman of the Board
George F. Hammersmith, Jr. was elected Chairman of the Board of Directors of Community Bank of Elmhurst at the Board's December 14, 2018 meeting. Hammersmith succeeds CBE Co-founder, William C. Gooch, Jr., who had held the position since 2004, and is retiring after more than 60 years in banking.
Hammersmith, a Founding Director, has served as Vice Chairman of the Board since 2004. The Bank was co-founded by his father, George F. Hammersmith, Sr., who served as Chairman of the Board from the Bank's founding in 1993, until his death in 2004.
Mr. Hammersmith resides in Colorado with his wife, Vicki, and enjoys spending time with his four adult children and six grandchildren.
BRETL JOINS COMMUNITY BANK OF ELMHURST BOARD
The Board of Directors of Community Bank of Elmhurst is pleased to announce the appointment of Joshua E. Bretl to the Bank’s board. Bretl, a lifelong Elmhurst resident, serves as president of FSR Wealth Management, Ltd. and vice president of FSR Certified Public Accountants, Ltd., both Elmhurst-based companies.
Mr. Bretl is a graduate of York Community High School and holds a degree in accounting from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He is a Certified Public Accountant and has previously served as president of the Elmhurst Lions Club and treasurer of the Elmhurst Heritage Foundation. Bretl and his wife, Melissa, are the proud parents of three young children.
